First of all, prepare the parts and tools as below:
Second, know the complete structure of the left and right accessories.
Now, follow our step-by-step instructions to integrate it into closet, transforming storage space into a practical ironing station.
Step 1 If you don’t need to change the mounting side, make sure that the screws securing the ironing board support, stop and armor plat. Confirm that the mounting plate are tightened accurately.
Step 2 Resemble the other side.
Step 3 Install the moving plate (Do not tighten the screws to the ends). Then install the gas spring. When it is done, tighten the screws of the moving plate.
Note: We recommend leaving 2-5 mm gap between the ironing board support and the ironing board.
Step 4 Install the work surface attachment as the picture shown below.
Step 5 Mark and drill the holes to install it on the wall.
Note: It is recommended to use the drilling tool (not included in the kit) to make the holes strictly.
Step 6 Attach the board to the cabinet.
Step 7 If necessary, adjust the board in the upright position to the left or right by installing shims between the mounting plate and the cabinet wall.
Mounting Height:
The height of ironing board above the floor (shown as ‘h’ in the figure) depends on what feels comfortable for users and how tall users are. In most cases, it’s a good idea to have the ironing board about 35.5 inches below user’s height or the average height if multiple people will use it. For example, if the user is 5’9″ tall, the ironing board should be mounted at a height of 33.5 inches from the floor.
- Selecting Wardrobe Wall for Mounting:
To make sure the ironing board doesn’t move around when users are using it, it’s best to attach it to a wall that has at least one shelf in the nearby section of the closet. This shelf should be about 10 inches away from the height where the ironing board is mounted.
To put hinges on the same part of the closet as the ironing board, follow these suggestions:
- Put the ironing board on the wall opposite to where the hinges are.
- Make the closet section a bit wider to fit the hinges, or place the hinges above and below the ironing board.
- Wardrobe and section requirements
- Closet needs to be firmly attached to the wall.
- Check the inside of the closet:
Optimal width: 4 inches
Minimum depth: 17.7 inches
Minimum distance from the height where the ironing board is mounted (shown by a dotted line in the figure) to the top of the closet section: 58 inches.
Minimum distance from the height where the ironing board is mounted (dotted line in the figure) to the floor of the section: 11 inches.
- Note:
If the door hinges are in the same section as the ironing board, make sure the door can open at least a little bit.
- Lay out the board vertically. The pull it toward you and pull it all the way down.
- Pull the folding board away from the cabinet by rotating it in an inward and horizontal direction.
- Then you can start the ironing.
