Ironing Boards for Serviced Apartments and Multi-Family Housing

An apartment ironing-board installation should be planned around the actual location, user sequence and maintenance responsibility. Decide whether the facility belongs inside a dwelling or in a shared amenity area, then review a representative layout before repeating it. Separate in-unit and shared amenity use

An in-unit board is part of one resident’s furniture and room layout. A shared installation sits within a common facility and needs its own access, operating and service arrangement. Do not treat these as the same purchasing requirement merely because the board model could be similar.

For an in-unit location, map the relationship to laundry storage, wardrobe doors and ordinary room use. For a shared location, have the project team review the facility plan and how the ironing task fits alongside other activities. Record those requirements in the brief without assuming that a product described as commercial is automatically appropriate for either arrangement.

Plan the space when the board is open
